One of the key trends spotted on the AW25 runways was wind-swept, berry-bitten cheeks. And with a rich burgundy hue a key tone in the fashion stakes too, ’tis the season to embrace curranty shades on lids, lashes, cheeks and lips. Here’s our beauty editor’s tips on how to wear them this autumn.

Tips On Autumnal Make-Up Looks

Lips are all about bitten flushes of colour rather than painted pouts. Look for nourishing balms or press colour into lips with your fingertips for that ‘just kissed’ look.

You can take one of two approaches with eyes – either line lashes with a deep cassis hue (great on green eyes), or opt for a pinky, berry tone wash over the whole lid. Want to really amp up the look? Switch your trad black mascara for a deep burgundy hue instead.

For cheeks, take your pick when it comes to texture – dewy balms, or soft, diffused powders. Apply to the mid-cheek in a real flush of colour for a youthful update.

Looking for a classic take? You can’t go wrong with an autumnal rouge noir manicure, perfect for pairing with seasonal knits and cosy autumnal outfits.
