Hannah Attalah noticed a gap in the market for fashion led swimwear and created a brand with a focus on making women feel more body confident. The Lebanese-Irish Creative Director founded Oceanus in 2018 in London.

Starting exclusively as a swimwear label, the brand is on a mission to empower women. The label expanded into ready-to-wear for the Summer 2023 collection. The brand is stocked in department stores globally and has a brick-and-mortar store on Newburgh Street in Soho.

Oceanus has quickly garnered growth after bringing sustainable styles to the market. Each piece, from bikinis to mini dresses, is made from eco-friendly materials, biodegradable beading and fabric from fishing nets. Hand embroidery also uses Swarovski crystals.

Hannah developed a unique design by drawing inspiration from the powerful, bold, ultra-glam vibe of the 80s. A hybrid of glamorous evening-wear and functional swimwear.

Bali is now home to the founder, and she opened a store there in 2023. The tropical landscape serves as an inspiration for many Oceanus designs.
