It’s been a summer to remember for serial entrepreneur Debbie Wosskow who just sold her home swapping business Love Home Swap for £40m. The mother-of-two founded the site Love Home Swap in 2011 after feeling inspired by the film The Holiday starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. The site is an online travel club subscription service allowing users around the world to stay in each other’s properties.

Although she has sold Love Home Swap, Debbie won’t be twiddling her thumbs any time soon. She is the Co-founder and Chairman of AllBright providing funding and support to female entrepreneurs, personally backs a number of female-led businesses including ShareStyle, a digital marketplace for style services and TAP, a smart technology company that enables Event Producers and Partners to delivery a more tailored event experience. She was the Founding Chair of Sharing Economy UK (SEUK) and sits on the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board. Aged twenty-five, she started her first company, a marketing consultancy called Mantra, which she later sold to Loewy Group.

Here Debbie talks to The Good Web Guide about Ibiza, female backed startups, shopping in the back of her Uber and Sheryl Sandberg.

My favourite website… Net-A-Porter - It’s my go-to for when I’m sitting in the back of an Uber.

My favourite app… I would probably have to say Twitter – I use it to keep up to date with everything that’s going on with my businesses and the rest of the world.

My blog of choice… What with Twitter and other social media, I rarely find myself looking at individual blogs. If I do come across one online, it will most likely be about tech.

My internet hero… Sheryl Sandberg – I love her ethos of empowering women in business.

My most recent buy online was… two EasyJet tickets to Ibiza - I’ve been going there every year since I was eighteen.

Book just downloaded/read… I love novels, and have just finished reading ‘The Gap of Time’ by Jeanette Winterson. Highly recommended.

Favourite tweeter… Startup Chick – It’s a feed full of amazing female backed start-ups sharing their advice and experiences.

Favourite Instagrammer…@rebelrecipes - I use Instagram a lot for fitness motivation – so would definitely say someone like @rebelrecipes, who keep me inspired with their wonderful recipes.

Social media allowed me to meet… A lot of the audiences from events that I have spoken at – particularly female entrepreneurs who I would not have been able to meet had it not been for online platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn.

Most worthwhile newsletter subscribed to… The Centre for Entrepreneurs’ weekly newsletter.

Pet hate about life online… It never stops – and doesn’t allow much time for sleep!

Stand out online memory… the launch of Love Home Swap… - I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved over the past few years, as the sharing economy has become more and more part of everyday life.
