Everybody is talking about Smallable, the online “family concept store”, with an impeccable edit of clothes and homewares for children and grown-ups.

“I love fashion and interiors, and I love boutiques that have a bit of everything, with a unique style and atmosphere,” says Cecile Roederer, the super-chic Parisian who launched the website, Smallable, in 2008.

Now a mother of two, Roederer conceived the platform for all things stylish for kids before she had any of her own. She had a background in marketing and a dream to set up her own company. Her sisters (she’s the youngest of five girls) and their friends were just starting to have families as her idea took hold.

“As working mothers, they told me that they didn’t have time to shop any more, to run between five or six different boutiques to dress and equip their children,” she explains.

Hence the birth of Smallable, with its inspired brands, capsule collections, women’s fashion and ultra stylish home accessories. In addition to the legions of original things to buy, the slick website also has a gorgeous online magazine and a gift-list service. (Plus, any visit to Paris would benefit from a trip to the stunning Smallable boutique in St. Germain des Pres.)

The site is flourishing with Roederer’s husband, Pierre Rochand, on board as creative director, while she concentrates on the buying side of the business.

Vogue describes Smallable as: “That well-known site for mothers who like to find that something special.” It may have started out with children in mind, but as time as gone on, the beautifully curated selection includes many a gem for teenagers and grown ups, too.

For teenaged goddaughters, you can’t go wrong with Chiara Ferragni’s Flirting T-shirt..

Vanessa Bruno’s Cunac Shirt would put a spring in our step this autumn.

And as for the homewares, the Pale Ceiling Lights from Georges are divine and Annabel Kern’s Nomade Cotton Gauze Toiletery Bag is just as pretty as can be.

For the little ones in our lives, we can’t resist the Becker Flannel shirt by Nico Nico or Babe & Tess’s Baby Alpaca Wool Trousers.

We wish you an extremely happy browsing session!
