Romance is not dead. At least not for SS20. Get set to welcome in the season with fresh florals, dreamily flowing midi and maxi dresses, pastel hues and lots and lots of frills.

Queen of the Prairie Romantic look is, without doubt Cecile Bahnsen, whose every creation makes us want to weep covetous tears and sigh at the sheer beauty of it. But there are many others doing excellent work in the field, as we’ve picked out here. At the highest end, Erdem’s dreamy watercolour prints, puff sleeves and ruffles were show-stealing at LFW, when he sent models sashaying not down catwalks but gravelly pathways at Gray’s Inn Walks, one of London’s largest privately owned gardens.
.
To accompany all the graceful made-for-strolling-through-meadows-of-wild-flowers frocks, we recommend you go the whole hog with romantic accessories, both for your person and the home. So rejoice: spring is on its way, and to accompany it, a trend that we can get on board with for the long-term (no crop tops and skimpy shorts to see here).

Even better? To swerve coming over twee, we highly recommend slipping on your favourite trainers to accompany the look. Pretty and comfortable? We’re sold.
