The garden has seen us through a lot over the past couple of years. It has served as distraction, inspiration and as a place of solace. Now, as we prepare the soil and ourselves for the autumn and winter ahead, it feels less like goodbye, more au revoir. For as much as the spring, autumn too feels hopeful in the garden, not least since, as we enjoy the final flourishes of glorious colour , so too do we sow the seeds of renewal for nature’s reawakening in a few short months. And as we get our hands pleasurably soil-encrusted, these are the items on our wishlists, both for now, and for the spring.
