Los Tendales in Galicia, Northern Spain is a gorgeous little bolthole for two, just 15 minutes’ drive from a couple of sandy beaches and 3km from the nearest village with taverna, bakery and shop. There are great walks all around here – and a pool and terrace for taking in the views. Closest airport is Santiago de Compostela (1 hour 10 minutes) although Porto is just 1 hour 45 minutes away, so you could combine either city with a week’s stay at the villa.
