Bathing in the summer should give you some relief from the heat but it won't if you're using the same towels you use year round. We suggest using a lighter towel, either a waffle or quick drying towel, which weigh next to nothing and are quick and easy to wash and dry.

How to get to sleep in a heatwave
Of course, you don't need to spend a fortune to get to sleep in hot weather. By following these simple rules, you should be able to nod off fairly quickly. The important thing to remember is to keep calm and don't toss and turn.
1. Make your bedroom as cool as possible before heading to bed. Keep curtains and windows closed during the day.
2. Dunking your feet in icy cold water will help lower your body temperature.
3. Take a lukewarm shower, not a cold one.
4. Leave your mobile in another room. Holding a hot phone in bed is not conducive to sleep.
5. Make sure your hydrated during the day but don't overdo it in the evening. You might end up needing the loo in the middle of the night.
6. Hot water bottles can be transformed into cool bottles by filling with cold water and freezing. Place in a pillowcase before taking it to bed.
7. A cold wet flannel always works and if you think ahead, place one in the fridge before bedtime, even better.
8. Sleep on your side will give your body more exposure to air.
