The aroma of freshly baked gingerbread brings the festive spirit into your home. With a Magimix food processor to hand, these cookies are easy to make.

Ingredients



200g plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
100g soft brown sugar
175g butter
1 egg
3 tbsp golden syrup

Icing



200g icing sugar
1tbsp water, or enough to create desired consistency

Method



1. Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger, cinnamon, sugar and butter to the food processor and PULSE till the butter has incorporated.
2. Add the egg and golden syrup and process until it form a dough.
3. Rest the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
4. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
5. Roll out the dough and cut into your desired shape. Place the gingerbread onto a baking tray and place in the oven to bake for 12-16 minutes.
6. Allow to cool to room temperature.
7. Meanwhile, combine the icing sugar and water to make a paste. Place into a piping bag and pipe on top of the gingerbread.
