BoConcept - The Call

If you love Danish design and film, you'll love BoConcept's new film, starring Mads Mikkelsen.

Mads Mikkelsen and BoConcept are the Danish equivalent to toast and marmalade. They're a perfect match and so it's with much excitement that the renowned furniture retailer, Bo Concept has released a film, The Call, with a second, The Guest, to follow later on this year.

This is a film, not an ad, so watch the thrilling drama unfold, all set against beautiful interioirs, created by BoConcept.

BoConcept designer, Morten Georgsen lent his home in Valencia for the filming. With its huge open spaces, big windows and great views, it was the perfect backdrop for both actors and BoConcept furniture. Georgsen said, "It was a thrill to see my house and some of my own designs being part of a great drama with a star like Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role."

Furniture, materials and accessories were carefully selected for this classy drama. BoConcept Visual Manager Jette Christensen explained, "You can take our concept in many different directions, but in this case, we wanted to achieve a mature, luxurious ambience to complement Mads' character so we combined dark colours with fine natural materials such as leather and marble as well as shiny materials on lamps, cushions and rugs that adds a bit of glamour."

Central to the film is The Mezzo sofa, with its big seats and cushions in exclusive stone-coloured leather. The film ends with Mads Mikkelsen lounging in the most iconic chair from BoConcept, the Imola chair. The fabric is Napoli - a smooth, velvety fabric in a dark brown tone to provide an elegant contrast to the big leather sofa and marble table. "Mads' great performance and look is the perfect match for BoConcept which is clearly expressed with the image of him sitting in the Imola chair. They just look great together," says BoConcept CEO Torben Paulin.

Don't miss the bedroom with the luxurious Mezzo bed and black glass wardrobbes. Watch out for the black Adidas suits that are carefully lined up – obviously it's a different kind of suit that Mads Mikkelsen prefers when he is not on the job.

With The Call, BoConcept wants to tell the audience that it appreciates the importance of being able to relax at home and therefore provides multiple variations with its designs, combined with a highly professional interior design service. The beautiful settings definitely illustrate what you can achieve with BoConcept and in the film, it turns out that Mads does get quite a lot of help with interior design.
