5 Autumn Beauty Trends To Try
Five wearable beauty trends straight from the AW24 catwalks
Catwalk trends don’t have to be followed slavishly, of course. They can, however, act as a style barometer to inspire your new season wardrobe and make-up buys. This week we’ve reviewed the AW24 runway reports to bring you five wearable, on-trend beauty looks to try this autumn.
Think Pink
A flash of fuchsia was a popular pop of colour on the catwalks, worn as a graphic line across lids. An unexpected bold shade, it may not be for the faint hearted, but it is easy to execute with an eyeshadow stick: perfect with sharp autumn tailoring.
Dynasty Hair
While nineties minimal sleek has been the go-to ‘do for 23/24, hair volume just got dialled up with 1980s Dynasty-style bouffants. Flowing waves, height and backcombing were the common themes – get your mousses at the ready.
Boyish Reds
A slick of red lipstick isn’t anything new. This season, though, it has been paired with a thoroughly modern, more androgynous face: undone natural brows, luminous, blush-free ‘clean’ skin and minimal lashes. Blue-tone red lips, or deeper merlot shades in a matte texture were the order of the day, applied in a kissed on, blurred cloud of colour.
Soft Metallics
A beautiful and wearable trend to master in time for the festive season, tones of copper and warm gold were seen smudged into lids for a subtle shimmering wash of colour. If you’re feeling bold, eyes were also seen embellished with stick-on crystals for a statement, sparkling look.
Winter Walk Flush
If summer skin is sun-kissed, this autumn skin has a natural fresh glow as if you’ve just returned from a cliff top stomp, with pink flushed cheeks and berry stained lips from hedgerow foraging.
