We caught up with Darshana Ubl, co-founder, to find out more.

When did you launch the site?

[Founders Marcus and Darshana Ubl] We launched Verve Rally’s site in 2016, the first of its kind. Holidays that offer an innovative combination of exceptional experiences, sleek supercar engineering and style, against the landscape of some of Europe’s most breathtaking locations.

What are your greatest challenges?

One of the greatest challenges of our business is ensuring we leave a positive impact not only with our customers but in society and on the environment. To address these challenges Verve Rally is proud to have been Carbon Neural since inception in 2016, planting trees to offset our carbon footprint. We also host a Charity Gala each year to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. This charity is particularly close to our hearts as it offers terminally ill children and their families unforgettable experiences, and we are proud to support and champion the incredibly vital work they do.

What's your background?

Marcus and I are a formidable team when it comes to business experience and passion for what they do.

Marcus is a third-generation motor enthusiast. From the age of five, he could name the make and model of any car on the road. Across his career, Marcus has developed and sold three successful businesses, with sixteen years of experience in branding, events and scaling SMEs. His previous venture was a Global SME leadership training company, across four countries and six cities.

My formal education includes a Masters in Economics. However, I have always had a passion for finding beauty in life, from climbing to the tops of trees to admire Indian views as a young girl to uncovering beautiful spots around the world as a businesswoman. Across my career, I have grown, run and scaled several businesses and now seek to share what I have learned with others often featuring on news outlets to comment as an SME representative, as well as delivering keynotes on Strategic Partnership, Business Growth, Women in Business and 'Triple Win'® method (As seen on TEDx, Elite Business Show, Entrepreneur Brand Accelerator, etc.).

Together our vision is to share their passion for performance cars, driving and adventure in a community created for like-minded people who share their Verve for travel, driving, celebrating adventure, friendship and gratitude.

Who do you admire in business?

We derive admiration from many in business and it’s hard to pinpoint a few.

Those with a big vision such as Elon Musk, Victoria Beckham for her tenacity and drive and a string of other business owners and entrepreneurs we’ve met and worked with over the years.

Please recommend a website and/or app that helps you promote or run your business or that you simply couldn't live without.

Basecamp is vital to our business as an easy-to-use project management system that enables the smooth translation of ideas and tasks between our team. A lot of time and attention to detail is necessary to ensure our rallies are hassle-free for our clients, and basecamp is a great tool to achieve the seamless project organization we pride ourselves on. Besides this, we use active campaign CRM which streamlines a lot of information behind our rallies and events.

Do you have a favourite business podcast?

Our favourite business podcast is HBR IdeaCast, great for keeping up to date with new and exciting developments in business around the world. The Guardian’s Today in Focus is also often on in the background, for the best commentary on political developments. Also if you haven’t heard of them, check out RadioLab, an incredible gem of the podcast world, exploring some of the most unexpected and inspiring stories.

What is the best piece of digital advice you've been given in regards to your showcasing/running your business online?

A photograph speaks louder than words. We invest a lot in creating digital assets such as videos and hi-res photos of our rallies. For example:

Who is your favourite designer?

Cheryl Laidlaw from Website In A Day.

What is your motto?

We live and breathe “Verve” embracing life with Vigour, Spirit and Enthusiasm.

To us, this means reminding ourselves to be grateful for everything we have, embracing life by enjoying it and living in the present.

I also like to say whatever you do in life, give it 100% - unless you are donating blood! It makes us laugh, but it’s so true. Life is short, you cannot be afraid to do something different or something that makes you grow. After all, people often regret those things they didn’t do.
