We talk to founder, Harriet Inglis who has this to say about her flourishing business.

What was the inspiration for the company?
Having four children and living in London, I felt inspired to create something above all else relaxing. We all need to take more time out and Spacemasks allows you to do that.

When did you launch the site?
I launched the site last April. Or was it March..? The website was set up to be quirky, efficient and fun. It’s truly one of a kind.

What are your greatest challenges?
The greatest challenge I face is the cliche one that all working mothers face - balance.

Who do you admire in business?
The ultimate respect goes to Geraldine Howard who set up Aromatherapy Associates from her house in Gowan Avenue, Fulham. I was fortunate enough to meet her before her premature death in January 2016.



What's your background?
My background is in restaurant PR! Go figure...

As for an app that helps me to promote Spacemasks, it would have to be Instagram.

Do you have a favourite business podcast?
Podcast? What’s that? I’ve never listened to one but am always being told I should.

What is the best piece of digital advice you've been given in regards to your showcasing/running your business online?
I’m not sure I’ve ever been given any digital advice apart from a handful of friends who taught me the ins and outs of Instagram.



What is your motto?
My motto is, of course, Interstellar Relaxation.

Where do you see the business going from here?
I’m constantly asked where I see the business going and the answer is always the same: I have no idea. I set Spacemasks up between school runs and mealtimes having never sold anything in my life (other than a few chocolate brownies) and am tickled pink with how it’s going 1 year on. It’s great for our 4 daughters to see on a daily basis. They are seeing behind the scenes of a small start up and I hope that will stand them in good stead.

Have you put your company forward for an award before?
Spacemasks won the Beauty Shortlist Award in March and have since been nominated for an award in The Vogue Beauty Awards and The Junior Design Award.
