In our last interview of 2018's Awards, we talk to the lighting specialists about their startup.

Molts Lighting showcases a specially selected range of beautifully designed lighting that will enhance your home and living space, with ethical and environment issues at our core and a passion for design and interior living. We caught up with co-founder, Louisa Molter, who tells us more..

What was the inspiration behind the website?
After many years working as an electrician, Jason was always being asked where to find nice, innovative and practical lighting. After many years of pointing people to the same places and after experiencing similar with our own house renovations, we decided to bring a collection of lighting together to showcase how good lighting can really enhance a space from a design aspect and a practical one.

When did you launch the site?
April 2018

What are your greatest challenges?
Online giants and high street stores, our products are carefully selected and a lot of them are handmade, when compared to some other stores that offer bulk made products at a lower price it can sometimes be difficult to justify our higher price tag, having said that, we are really proud of all of our products and our relationship with the designers and brands. Quality and ethically sourced innovative and practical lighting will always be at the forefront of our business.

Please recommend a website and / or app that helps you promote your site or that you simply couldn't live without
Instagram - Our products are so visual and quite often a purchase is a financial commitment to our customers so Instagram is vital to us and is a forum where we can showcase our lighting in its true glory. We also love socially interacting with interior designers, architect's and home owners.

Do you have a favourite business podcast?
I don't really listen to business podcasts, but I do read a lot on various platforms about marketing, brand building, social media and any other information I can get my hands on to help me improve our business, being so new and new to online retail we are happy to admit that we still have a lot to learn.

What is the best piece of digital advice you've been given in regards to your showcasing/running your business online?
Being current and keeping the website and other digital platforms updated and regular which in turn will build trust, our brand and a good reputation.
