As travel restrictions are relaxed, the world is opening up once more for solo travellers, Cathy Winston of 101 Singles Holidays, looks at the best deals around.

The pandemic has been particularly tough on solo travellers. Amongst the eight million single-person households in the UK, many people felt particularly isolated and craved a holiday. But singles holidays tend to be group trips, sometimes with same-sex strangers sharing a room, just the kind of thing that Covid didn’t allow. The past 18 months has seen support bubbles, staycations and a boom in camping, villa holidays and rental cottages, but not so much for the solo traveller.

Now, as travel restrictions are relaxed, the world is opening up once more for solo travellers. Cathy Winston, Editor of 101 Singles Holidays, says many specialist companies are launching new destinations, reviving old favourites and reinstating room shares. Here she picks some of the best deals and late availability for solo travellers.
