Cast your vote for the best UK getaway to be in with a chance of winning a host of excellent prizes.
i-escape’s Staycation Awards 2021 are now open
There’s no denying it: travel has been hard-hit by the pandemic. And yet, as with various other of the side effects of Covid-19, there have undeniably been some discernible upsides. Chief amongst these has been our collective newfound appreciation for the beauty to be found on home shores, as explored with a renewed fervour and enthusiasm between lockdowns. People flocked to the rugged shoreline of Cornwall; the awe-inspiring big skies of north Norfolk; the rolling hills and sandy stretches of Devon; and the breath-taking beauty of the Lake District, among many others, overjoyed to clap eyes on new horizons – and all without once hopping on a plane.
And as our collective voyaging unearthed and confirmed: there is a happy proliferation of truly dreamy small hotels and hideaways up and down the land. Now, as shortlisted by i-escape’s roving reviewers, it is time to vote for your favourites. There are forty to choose from – as listed in full here – and all those who enter their choices, which takes no more than a couple of minutes, will be automatically in with a chance to win over £1000-worth of prizes.
One lucky winner will be awarded £500 in vouchers to spend on an i-escape holiday in 2021 (do note, the vouchers must be used within three months); plus there are five £100 vouchers to be won, as well as a year’s supply of Vacay canned cocktails, whose collection includes a Moscow Mule; a Tom Collins; a Paloma; and a Blood Orange & Hibiscus Vodka Soda.
Fancy bedding down in one of these beauties next year? Or glugging your way into 2021? What are you waiting for? The awards close on 13 December, so do ensure you have your say before then. And aside from the chance to win, it is a truly inspiring list that’s bound to have you booking up those much-needed getaways for the new year.
As Julia Buckley, writing in the Independent, says of i-escape: ‘Hotel websites can be impossible to sift through, and sometimes they can feel like little more than targeted ads. But that’s where i-escape comes in. It’s genuinely curated, offers a fantastic selection of mainly independent hotels, and has proper, genuine reviews that tell you who this is and isn’t for, rather than pretend everyone’s going to love it. It’s one of the first places I check if I’m going somewhere.’
For even as overseas travel opens up once more, never again will we neglect the native beauty of Britain. Get perusing and cast your vote in the Staycation Awards here.
