Tignes is one of the best resorts for a summer holiday in the Alps with hiking, biking and many free activities. Phuket has emerged as an exciting destination for the summer. Local authorities have carried out their own vaccination programme and opened to double-jabbed Brits from 1 July. After a negative test, you can explore the island, but you can only visit other parts of Thailand after a stay of 14 days. It’s perfect if you want a relaxing tropical beach break. I’ve found some amazing deals. The boutique four-star Burasari Resort is charging just £195 pp for a seven-night package with B&B and airport transfers in July, August and September with Transindus. From October the price reverts to £558 pp. You can fly to Phuket with KLM or Etihad with fares from £681.

There are some great options if you want to rent a villa with private pool for family or friends. In Galicia in northern Spain, Villa Correxins (sleeps 6) is a beautifully-restored house with infinity pool, hot tub and lovely gardens. If you don’t fancy self-catering, here are some hotel options. At the gorgeous MarBella Corfu, there’s a great deal for families in July and August with double rooms from €229 per night with half-board - children stay free. You can also get a 50% discount on an upgrade to all-inclusive.

The Parklane in Cyprus in a luxury family-friendly resort with five restaurants and a lavish children’s play park. Seven nights B&B for two adults and one child costs from £3,869 in August including flights and transfers. Book by 31 July with The Inspiring Travel Company.

On the coast of Morocco, you could stay at Rebali Riads, a boutique beachfront hotel near Essaouira with 18 rooms, gardens, swimming pools, hamman and tennis court. Prices start from £85 (saving £15) per room per night for two people including breakfast, with Fleewinter.

How about a luxury cruise on a barge hotel in France? Step aboard the stylish 12-passenger Panache for a six-night cruise of Alsace and Lorraine between now and October, from £3,591 pp (saving £399 pp) including all meals and fine wines. Book by 9 August with European Waterways.

Peter Sommer Travel has a gastronomic gulet cruise along the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia departing 27 September. The eight-day journey costs £3,465 including full-board, excursions, entrance fees and airport transfers.
