The co-founder of Storcx, the money-pooling site for buying gifts, gives us the inside track to her life online.

Mother-of-four, Lohralee Astor was fed up with constantly buying presents for numerous children’s parties and thought there must be a better solution. She teamed up with Elizabeth Sieff to set up Storcx, the gift-giving site that allows you to collect funds from friends for a group present.

Storcx was shortlisted for The Good Web Guide’s Website of the Year: People’s Choice 2018.

My favourite website… Google - I think it is the best search engine and I use it about thirty times a day. Wikipedia is another obsession of mine. I use wiki to search things and get a quick summary. I also love STORCX obviously! Honestly with four children and running my own company, time is short and Storcx has undoubtedly saved me hours of time when looking for presents, and wrapping etc!

My favourite apps… Amazon, The Times and Ocado. Apps should be easy to use, save you time and help with your day to day activities! I can’t remember a world before Ocado - it is probably the best app ever made!

My blog of choice… The London Chatter and My Baba. I have four children and find My Baba is a godsend. The site is jam-packed full of advice, useful titbits and great brands that I hadn’t heard of before.

My internet hero… Chad Hurley, co-founder of YouTube is a legend. Thanks to YouTube I can watch video on how to do bits on InDesign, put together and take down a pram and watch a funny video. YouTube is one of my top favourite sites.

My favourite podcasts… How I Built This, The Meditation Podcast, The Business of Fashion. When coming up with Storcx with my business partner Elizabeth Sieff, all these podcasts motivated me and served some sort of useful information. I found them a huge inspiration. The podcasts helped me channel my drive and ideas and put them into actual practice.

My most recent buys online... mini chopping boards - I LOVE cooking! Preparing meals for my children and sometimes with the older ones is one of my greatest joys, so I do tend to buy a lot of cooking essentials online.

Book just downloaded/ read… ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’ by Heather Morris - Such a gripping read.

Favourite tweeter… I need to get into tweeting.

Favourite Instagrammer… @Thismuchiknowglobal - A news feed for a new generation set up by Emily Sheffield, former Deputy Editor and Digital Director of Vogue UK.

Social media allowed us to meet… Great brands such as The Good Web Guide. We also have gained amazing follows on Instagram as well as partnered up with some fabulous companies through the channel.
