The founder of Edition 94, the lifestyle and vintage homestore in London, talks about podcasts, Florence St.George and travelling.

Love vintage? You’re going to love Edition 94,, the brainchild of India Whalley. Courtesy of Instagram and the website, you don’t need to actually trek to South Kensington to get a good glimpse of what is on offer at her homeware shop, Edition 94,, that is often likened to an Aladdin’s cave. Much of what is for sale is vintage or created by up-and-coming artists. India has always wanted to support artists and champion sustainability.

Prior to setting up shop, she launched a gallery called the Dot Project to showcase talented artists. She has since relocated the gallery into her home, and continues to run it by-appointment-only. Now India spends her days sourcing for her site and shop; she hunts for vintage treasures like handblown Italian glasses or bamboo mirrors in flea markets in England, France, and further, or spends time collaborating with artists to design items for her shop. Here, we chat to India about podcasts, Florence St.George and travelling.

My favourite website… Semaine - I love the design of the website and all of their branding. They also do really interesting bio pieces on artists, entrepreneurs, curators and fashion designers. All their content is super interesting.

My favourite app… Calm - If I’m feeling overwhelmed by a day or week, I listen to the meditations. It just gives me some space to breathe and calm down. You can also listen to the sleep stories to help relax you, which I highly recommend.

My blog of choice… Suitcase Magazine - It's a multimedia travel magazine. Travelling is at the core of what I love to do and sourcing for the store and suitcase magazine has excellent tips for pretty much everywhere.

My favourite podcasts... Desert island Discs by Radio 4 or How to Fail with Elizabeth Day which celebrates the things that haven’t gone right.

My most recent buy online… a pair of vintage scalloped mirrors from the 1970s with Black Glass from Stockholm.

Book just downloaded/ read… I listen to podcasts more than I read books, usually when I’m walking in the mornings. I recently listened to an episode of Happy Place, which is Fearne Cotton's podcast. It was the episode she did with Kris Hallenga which is incredible, you must listen to it!

Favourite tweeter… I don’t use Twitter.

Favourite instagrammer… @bygloriagonzalez - Gloria he has beautiful taste and I pretty much save all the posts for future home design inspiration.

Social media allowed me to meet… Florence St. George - An incredibly talented ceramicist and potter whose pieces we stock in The Edition 94.
