With its exclusive range of personalised gifts, THE LETTEROOM caters perfectly to the current craze for monogramming.

Back in 2009, a couple of friends, Jackie Jackson and Sherrie Mead, sat in a draughty barn in Andover and came up with the idea of THE LETTEROOM.

The founders of the multi-award-winning site say: “Our aim was to make gift-buying a quick and pleasurable experience by establishing a one-stop virtual shop for fabulously quirky and original gifts. We decided we would only sell things that we would buy ourselves.”

They’ve nailed it – not least because, in the decade since they began, typography and monogramming have become staggeringly popular consumer trends.

Here are a few of our favourite things at THE LETTEROOM now.

ENAMEL POP LETTER PIN

These cute, brightly coloured pins will put a smile on the face of the surliest teenager. Choose from the letters A to Z, & and a heart.

ALPHABET PEN POT

These are the chicest addition to your desk, dressing table or mantelpiece. Made of smooth crystal covered with laquer, the little beauties come in eight striking colours.

PERSONALISED CHILDREN’S COLOURING SET

There is a moment in childhood when the thrill of stationary combines with the thrill of seeing your name emblazoned on your belongings. This wooden box perfectly marries the two.

MONOGRAMMED CARRY ON BAG

Male or female, young or old, style-conscious travellers will thank you for this canvas bag bearing the smartest initials.

LETTER PEG BOARD

Witty, elegant and practical, this board is based on old barbers’ price boards. Hang it in the kitchen and let the memos commence.

ALPHABET BALLOONS

Perky as can be, these colourful balloons can be arranged to spell out a unique message of your choice or simply the name of the birthday boy or girl.
