Sadly Charlotte & Co closed its doors in 2019 but don't worry, there are plenty of brands doing fab pyjamas.

Pyjamas have never been better and should not be relegated to the bedroom alone. A good pair is the perfect excuse for an indulgent night in or a lazy Sunday. There is no need to feel at a loss when looking for brands doing night and loungewear well, as we've done the groundwork for you.

Over the last few years, we have written numerous articles on the desirability of a good pair of pyjamas or pull on baggies, the type of clothes we want to wear when we're chilling. Generally made from superior fabrics and pretty patterns, this type of pyjama and loungewear is just what you need for an early night. These are the companies we have on our wishlist when we need to fulfill these needs:-

We first came across Desmond & Dempsey on Instagram, with most of the team adding its luxe pyjamas onto the wishlists in our mind. Its striking prints are what piqued our interest in the reimagined man's shirt tailored for women and to be worn in the bedroom. The patterns are inspired by the journals of the English adventurer so expect flora, fauna and birds to feature large. Made from the best quality cottons and traditional textures, these are timeless classics and super comfortable. It's worth noting there is also a range of PJs for kids.

PJ Pan uses only the finest combed cotton, which is then hand-tailored and finished off with real shell buttons. Available in a huge range of colours, designs and patterns, the nightwear is made in the UK. The pyjamas and nightshirts are traditional, flattering and comfortable with brushed cotton women’s pyjama bottoms, luxurious silk, soft cotton nightshirts and striped cotton men's pyjamas being the order of the day. The old-school theme is given further emphasis by the charming choice of names for each design; names like ‘Sunday papers’, ‘beans on toast’, ‘breakfast in bed’ and ‘counting sheep’ should conjure up images of lazy Sunday mornings, relaxed sofa sessions and family breakfasts. These are pyjamas to slouch about in, as well as sleep in.

Shortlisted for The GWG Awards 2019, Yawn is a British brand launched that in 2014 and was born out of founder Alice Whiteley’s busy life as a working mother who found it difficult to switch off. She wanted a pair of pyjamas that felt like a hug when you put them on and thus, Yawn arrived on the fashion scene. The pyjamas have all the prerequisites for the perfect pair of pyjamas, hand-drawn prints, super soft fabrics and details to ensure that you're super comfortable at all times.

See our edit of small independent brands that excel at pyjamas for kids. Whether you're looking for a traditional Peter Pan collar, a crisp white-cotton pyjama or a bright nightie, we've found eight luxury children's pyjama websites that tick all the boxes. You'll even find matchy-matchy versions for mums as well. All perfect for lazy Sundays, just make sure the kids get the message.
