Can you keep a pinky promise? Louis Vuitton has sworn to do so with their #MakeAPromise campaign
in collaboration with UNICEF
. The fashion power house has pledged to help make the world a better place, and it’s a promise they won’t break. At the beginning of January 2017, they marked the partnership with parties in Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Toronto. Celebrities including Kate Moss and David Beckham have already made their promise.
Together, UNICEF and Louis Vuitton have launched a global initiative to raise funds that will benefit children in urgent need, particularly those exposed to natural disasters. To show the designer’s support, the luxury brand has designed a silver Lockit pendant and bracelet
(on sale as of this month) with proceeds being donated to UNICEF. The pendant is inspired by the lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 for the signature trunks.
‘UNICEF is a strong and reliable leader in humanitarian action. Together, we can make a real difference to children in the most vulnerable situations,’ said Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. ‘When children make a promise, they take it seriously. These are promises that come straight from the heart. The pinky promise is an instinctive and sincere way to seal a promise and to share it with someone close.’
