What's your background?

I was the founder of Feather and Black, Matthew Hardcastle (my business partner) has a background in ecommerce and technology.

Who do you admire in business?

It's difficult to get past Jeff Bezos.

Please recommend a website that helps you promote your business

Houzz is a reasonably new site- but fast becoming the search destination for many of our customers.

What is the best piece of business advice you've been given?

Business is like poker. If you are sitting at the wrong card table - it doesn’t matter how many hands of cards you win. It is all about being at the right card table and winning one hand.

Where do you see the business going from here?

We are self funded and are doubling the business annually - and the objective is to keep doing that. If we do a good job, we will have lots of options - if we don’t do a good job - few options. It's that simple.

Why do you like entering awards?

We have not entered awards before but realise that it’s important for our customers to see the advocacy and recognition of influential industry bodies like The Good Web Guide.
