Surveyors

www.rics.org.uk

This is the official website of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. This is the world’s leading professional body addressing all aspects of land, property and construction.

From the Homepage, the ‘Find a Surveyor’ tab is the immediate point of interest. If you are looking for a surveyor in a particular location, merely click the ‘Location’ tab.

Additionally, should there be some particular features about your property on which you require a specific report, there is a ‘Specialisations’ tab showing surveyors with specific skills. There are over 100 different specialisations listed.

For those who want an authoritative survey report from a member of a professional body of high repute, this is the site to visit.

www.surveyline.com

This is a national network of over 200 UK Chartered Surveyors who offer a complete range of property advice. Whilst most lenders will require a valuation by one of their panel surveyors for their own purposes, there are situations when you may wish to commission your own Valuation Report. Cash purchase, matrimonial disputes and probate are situations where this may apply.

The advantage of this site, particularly for the cost conscious, is that you can request a quote.

www.cwsurveyors.co.uk

Countrywide surveyors are the largest residential survey business in the UK and operate from 140 locations. They are appointed valuers to virtually all the major UK lenders.

The site offers the residential homebuyer a full range of services ranging from a mortgage valuation report or homebuyer surveys to energy surveys. The office locator is quick and simple to use. Simply select a county and press ‘Go’. A list of towns and cities covering the chosen county will appear. Office details can then be accessed.

This is a very effective site. For the consumer in a hurry, this may be the site to investigate and avoid any fuss.
