Homes & Gardens

All you need for growing your own vegetables with ease.

VegGrower is the home of growing your own vegetables giving you all that is necessary for creating a vegetable patch, whether it's in your garden, an allotment or in a corner on a balcony. A company that claims it 'knows its onions', the people behind it have over a century's worth of experience in both horticulture and wholesale fruit and vegetables.

The company is run from its busy garden centre in the north Nottinghamshire countryside. On the site you'll find a comprehensive range of plants, seeds and equipment, all at competitive prices.

If you're new to vegetable growing, VegGrower has a number of useful guides full of suggestions as to what to grow, along with hints and tips for the novice gardener. The salad seedbed rolls are an instant take on growing your own; a four foot bed that you roll out on the ground, anchor with pegs and water. Alternatively if you're after vegetable plants, choose one of VegGrower Veg Garden kits, giving a comprehensive selection of plants. For the coming season, the winter warmers kit includes cauliflowers, cabbages, brocolli, brussel sprouts, leeks, spinach and chard. Prices start at £27.99. You can also buy seed potatoes here.

The Grow Your Own Kits provide everything that you need to get started. Choose from windowsill planter kits right up to VegGrower-To-Go patio planter kits using timber raised beds.

There is also a large and comprehensive selection of individual plant varieties, starting from £1.99. Plants are offered in smaller pack quantities enabling people with smaller gardens to be able to buy a variety of different plants, which is not always the case elsewhere. VegGrower also caters for those who want larger numbers of plants by offering discounts on three or more packs of one type of vegetable.

VegGrower also sells a good selection of fruit trees, with a wide range of varieties, as well as stocking soft fruit plants, such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. VegGrower will soon have over 250 varieties of fruit trees listed. Place orders and trees will be delivered at the time of year they should be planted.

VegGrower completes the hat trick with its selection of gardening tools and accessories, including trugs, jute vegetable sacks, mini greenhouses and storage units. The Culti Cave is a clever idea for small gardens or for gardeners who only need a protected growing environment for part of the year. A polytunnel of sorts, it can be assembled easily and dismantled to be stored when not in use. Multiple units can be zipped together to form a larger polytunnel structure.

There is free mainland UK delivery on orders over £50.
