Plants Magazine

A great source of information on new plants, and a recent facelift has made it far more user-friendly.

This website of the quarterly print magazine is popular with keen gardeners, nursery owners and gardeners with an interest in new and unusual plants. The author is Dirk van der Werff, champion of plant development. If you've discovered or bred a new plant this is the place to publicise it to the community of plant enthusiasts worldwide.

The main menu and latest features can be found by scrolling down the homepage. Once in the different sections you can use the return links to get back to the homepage, though these can be somewhat hit and miss. Information is fascinating and well-illustrated, and it will whet your appetite for the print magazine. Various sections of the site are updated weekly, monthly and quarterly, and you can register to be informed by email when the homepage is updated.

Special Features

Most interesting and accessible is Plant of the Week and the associated Archives, which provide in-depth information about the origins and characteristics of specific plants. Descriptions are accompanied by a photograph, and kept well up to date.

Back issues lists the contents of each quarterly issue of the print magazine, and some articles from the earlier issues are available to read on screen.
