Rocco Gardner, owner of the gorgeous Rancho V, retreat and recording studio in the US, gives us an insight into his life online.

Rocco Gardner is a British-born musician, record producer and entrepreneur, who since making the US his home in 2010, has fast become known for his unwitting ability to take on highly implausible (and in some cases almost impossible) projects. Once described by The Times London as 'The next Richard Branson', Rocco is a renaissance man in the truest sense of the word. His business interests span music, photography, hospitality and the arts. Rocco owns the gorgeous Rancho V, a recording studio and retreat in Pioneertown, California.

My Favourite Website... Bloomberg - I don’t spend hours reading the news but Bloomberg.com is an excellent source for business and world news plus its formatting is colorful and clear; it's set as my homepage.

My Favourite App... n-back - I’ve been playing around with n-back recently. It’s a numbers game that exercises your working memory. In short you remember sequences of numbers and it sharpens your mind. Whether or not this is true, I reckon it beats staring at social media!

My Favorite Blog... Tim Ferriss - Author of the 4-Hour Work Week and 4-Hour Body, has a great blog and podcast, tune in!

My Internet/Tech Hero... Elon Musk - We were lucky to be hanging with Elonat the GoT premiere last night, he’s up there!

My Most Recent Buy Online... I just bought a Muse meditation band. My friend Jojo showed it to me. It's basically a band you put on your head that connects to your phone and measures your progress as you (attempt to) meditate. I’m going to give it a try out in the desert.

Books I've Just Downloaded...The Toltec Art of Life and Death by Don Miguel Ruiz, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma, The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida, The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli and various biographies.

My Favourite Tweeter... @ranchodelaluna - I’m not on Twitter so much but probably my friend, neighbour and musical partner in crime, David Catching of the Eagles of Death Metal... Snapchat seems to be becoming a daily thing with my friends.

My Favourite Instagrammer... I’m probably going to say some of my friends again, Cole Rise (@colerise) is an awesome photographer and one of the original IG users with close to a million followers today. Ben Watts (@wattsupphoto), also a great fashion photographer, is always posting colourful and BTS shots from his shoots and my friend, Kristian Schmidt (@kristianschmidt_) is one of the best wildlife photographers I know, although we hang a lot so I get to see what he’s up to most of the time in any case!

My Pet Hate About Life Online... Probably people staring at their phones in social situations, it's just rude. We just finished a song about that called Blah Blah Blah for our desert band Crush. It’ll be out later this year and pretty much sums it up.

Social Media Allowed Me to Meet... No one specific here but it's connected plenty of people into the ranch and studios, making the world a smaller place. On the odd occasion in the past, when we were putting the Escape to New York music festival together, a couple of people stopped me in the street to tell me they enjoyed my Instagram feed - which was a first but flattering nonetheless.

My Stand Out Online Memory... - It's a strange take on this one but my good friend Jim Kroft who is a singer based in Berlin recently spent a few months living in a van on Lesvos and decided to set up a fund from his album sales to buy a rescue boat for kids and families they were pulling out of the sea. His words about what he was seeing brought me to tears - without the internet it would have been hard for him to share what he was seeing and secure the support of his friends. He’s raised the first 15,000 euros now, you can see what I read here.

Most Worthwhile Newsletter/Mailer Subscribed To... Well, that would have to be the Escape newsletter!
