The CEO of luxury hotel group, Six Senses, talks web with us, sharing some favourite online haunts.

The most anticipated luxury hotel opening this year was Six Senses Zil Pasyon on Félicité, the unspoiled private island resort in the Seychelles. White sandy beaches, massive granite rocks, a topnotch spa… what more could you ask for? The luxury boutique beach resort made up of thirty villas and seventeen private residences occupies just one third of the island; the rest is for beauty and wildlife. It sounds like heaven.

We talk to Neil Jacobs, celebrated CEO of Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas, about his online antics.

My favourite website is... perhaps, The New York Times, OolaLife, travel magazine, AFAR and Nowness. It is hard to select just one. I like the design and content of each of these sites. They are all entertaining as well as providing interesting and insightful information.

My favourite apps... Waze for driving, Spotify for music, Velocity for dining and Withings, which is a health tracker.

My blog of choice... Jungles in Paris and Debbie Pappyn’s travel blog, Classe Touriste.

I really do not have an internet hero... but I like what I see in terms of conservation and sustainability from Leonardo DiCaprio.

My most recent buy online was... books, books and more books - I have just bought The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, 438 Days by Jonathan Franklin, Venice Synagogues by Umberto Fortis, The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, The Power of When by Dr Michael Breus and David Bowie 1947-2016 by David Bowie. I am finally reading Night by Elie Wiesel for the first time.

The book I just downloaded was... A Perfect Score by Kathryn and Craig Hall.

My favourite tweeter... @TechnicallyRon - He is funny and entertaining while at the same time is able to intelligently address serious topics. Humour is a great way to tackle some difficult subjects.

Favourite instagrammer... Clodagh Design and Chris Burkard - Clodagh is an incredible designer. I love her style and her ability to infuse a project with a sense of place and personality. It’s always clearly defined in her photos too. Chris features amazing imagery from all corners of the globe. I love his website too.

Social media allowed me to meet... Lots of job candidates via LinkedIn. It’s a great way to find talent.

Most worthwhile newsletter subscribed to... Refinery29 and The Onion.

Stand out online memory... Watching a Facebook live drone tour of Felicite island where our new resort, Six Senses Zil Pasyon, is located. Gorgeous!

Pet hate about life online... It’s all consuming!
