Rebottling’s live-streamed events allow you to try fine wines and meet Michelin-starred chefs and sommeliers – all from your dining room table.
Matt Bird, an entrepreneur, author and columnist who has run wine tasting events for the past fifteen years, founded Rebottling during lockdown in 2020. Passionate about food and wine, he spotted a gap in the market to repackage sommelier- and food expert-led experiences into a condensed, entertaining and accessible format that introduces consumers to new wines that they will love.
Rebottling arrives on your doorstep in a stylish box containing three fine wines and accompanying tasting notes; a bespoke ‘tasty eat treat’; and an exclusive invitation to its live online tasting event. Each experience – or issue – is different from the last, and features a variety of impressive new faces, different accompanying nibbles and new wines to try.
Each issue is themed and made in partnership with one of the world’s
greatest chefs, vintners, sommeliers or food artisans; thus far, they have included Adam Handling, Richard Weiss from Restaurant St Jacques and the master chocolatier, Paul A Young. Matt hosts the live-streamed event, and an ‘in conversation’ with the featured chefs or sommelier, bringing us a taste of fine dining at home, as well as a rare opportunity to meet and engage with such revered experts for an evening of spectacular wine pairings, fabulous food and fun.
We signed up for the first one and loved every second. Naturally, the wines were sublime – and all the more so for being matched to such extraordinary effect with Paul A Young’s spectacular chocolate creations. We were free to ask questions and it made for a thoroughly lovely way to spend an evening – especially during lockdown.
Following the success of its sell-out first three issues, Rebottling has announced that for Issue No. 4, it will be partnering with one of London’s brightest talents: the Michelin-starred Jason Atherton.
