If you're a food blogger, find the action at the FBC conference held in Beaconsfield from 28-30 Sep 2012.
Food Blogger Connect is Europe's premiere food bloggers' conference that is held annually, which this year will take place in Beaconsfield from 28th - 30th September. Bethany Kehdy, the founder of FBC, wanted to create an event for European food bloggers so that they didn't have to trip across to the States to meet up with fellow bloggers. And so in 2009, the first conference was held and now in its third year, the event has grown, attracting some of the best food bloggers, journalists and insiders to the three day event held at the Hempel Hotel in Bayswater, London.
The conference appeals to both aspiring bloggers and those that have built up an established following. It is also relevant to food photographers and stylists, as well as people working in the food industry who want to find out more about this powerful and fast growing medium. The event provides excellent networking opportunities, a place to exchange ideas and talk about food. This year, Dianne Jacob from the USA, author of Will Write for Food, will run a writing workshop. There are appearances from Felicity Cloake, award winning journalist for the Guardian and author of Perfect: 68 Essential Recipes for Every Cook’s Repertoire; Ellen Silverman, the inspiring photographer behind Gwyneth Paltrow’s stunning cookbook will run a photography and styling workshop; Susan Grossman, the well-established travel journalist, editor, author and BBC broadcaster turned University professor and media training specialist, Yvonne Fuchs, the successful expert behind branding workshops, to an experimental kitchen with Alessio Fangano, bringing kitchen science to FBC12.
There will be interactive workshops, round table discussions and topics covered will include monetising your blog, turning your photos into income, shooting a recipe video, google analytics, food photography and styling, as well as getting published.
The cost for the 2.5 days of fun filled events is £299 for general admission, money well worth spending if you're serious about building a career out of blogging about food. There are several workshops charged as an additional cost. £499 gives you full access to the conference and workshops.
Food Blogger Connect is a useful resource for the inside story on Europe's top food bloggers and food writers and its value extends beyond its conference. FBC unites food bloggers and food industry experts all year round, creating a conversation. Visit the site to see who it rates and for the latest news in the food blogging world.
