The Haunting of Bagger Bones follows the story of mischievous skeleton, Bagger Bones, who loves to haunt children.

Ghoul-loving children are being given the chance to star in their own spine-tingling Halloween adventure, thanks to the launch of a new interactive story app.

Narrated by Ray Brooks, the much-loved voice of seventies classic children’s show, Mr Benn; The Haunting of Bagger Bones follows the story of mischievous skeleton, Bagger Bones, who loves to haunt children.  However, in a classic twisting of the tale, children get to become the hero – outwitting old Bagger Bones and scaring him away.

Before the story begins, children personalise their character by keying in their name and adding their own ‘scary’ photos. They then become the star of the story with a personalised narration. No two hauntings are ever the same, as children can add new photos of themselves and start again.

The Haunting of Bagger Bones is available now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad for £2.99. It features narrations for around 2,000 of the UK’s most popular boys’ and girls’ names.

Commenting on The Haunting of Bagger Bones, Ray Brooks said: “Mr Benn was innovative in its day and to be involved in a new approach to storytelling 45 years on is wonderful.”

“Mr Benn had a simple 1970s charm about it - but the technology behind The Haunting of Bagger Bones reinvents storytelling; being able to share the story directly to a child, using their own name and face, is very special indeed.”
