The face cream crowdfunder - MyShowcase makes beauty your business.

This week’s crowdfunder hardly needs a leg-up (it has won numerous awards and accolades already) but we wanted to bring it to your attention.

Would you like a new face cream or nail varnish but can’t bear crowded sales counters and biased shop girls? Yet you still need a little guidance? We’re with you, as are the 37,000 customers who have already discovered MyShowcase, the multi-brand, multi-channel personal beauty advisory service.

This site, helping women to discover and buy beauty products, is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Nancy Cruickshank, (formerly of and Kate Shapland, beauty columnist for The Telegraph Magazine. Nancy wanted to set up a beauty company selling the best indie beauty brands not available on the high street alongside bigger names through a network of ‘stylists.’ These ‘stylists’, often women fitting the job around children, organise events where friends or colleagues can try out products. Imagine Avon taken over by SpaceNK and you get the picture.

MyShowcase has achieved £2m in net revenue to date, and ambitiously forecasts to double that in the next year. The average customer spend is £60. Already the site has received more than half of its funding. MyShowcase was named one of the Sunday Times’ Top 15 fastest growing startups in 2015 and was No.2 best online beauty retailer according to The Independent in 2014. It was shortlisted for Retail Week’s 2016 Ecommerce Team of the Year Award and has featured in the Daily Telegraph, Vogue, Independent and Sunday Times.

Want to make beauty your business? MyShowcase is looking to raise £750,000 for 10.61% equity via Crowdcube.
