Globalista

Globalista was set up in 2007 by Olivia Koerfer, John Gordon and Daisy Finer. It styles itself as an upmarket travel guide offering "inside reports for the discerning traveller." It currently covers more than 160 destinations and in the next year a further 200 reports will be added. Globalista covers the usual thing, recommending hotels, restaurants, shops and museums. It also has beautiful photography and a comprehensive listing of cultural and sporting events taking place in the destinations it has reports on.

INSIDE INFORMATION

Globalista
differentiates itself from its competitors with the fact that its reports are written by travel writers with insider knowledge. Many Globalista writers have either lived or still live in the places they have written about.

EXTRAS

The Cultural Weekend service is a weekly round-up of cultural events taking place in London, Paris and New York. Globalista also offers a summary of what's in the quality travel press. This can be found in the Travel Journal. If you need advice on where to eat in Marrakech or what hotel to stay in New York you might want to to use the Ask Globalista service, which is open to members and non-members.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership - currently being offered at the introductory rate or £99 or the full rate of £150 - entitles you to unlimited access to the Globalista database of reports. You can download these in PDF format. Members also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the reports. It costs £15 to access and download a single report.
