School of Everything

School of Everything was set up by a group of people who would like to see a revolution in our attitude to education. Inspired by the ideas of Austrian philosopher set up this online community where ‘everyone has something to learn, everyone has something to teach.'

With support from Channel 4 and the Young Foundation, and recognition from the New Statesman, who awarded the site the Inform and Educate award at its 2008 New Media awards, School of Everything connects learners with people who are keen to teach them. The site itself is completely free to use. Just log on and search for what you want to learn about. Categories include Arts & Crafts, IT & Technology and Music.

The site is clear, easy to use and is appealingly orange. As well as advertising your teaching skills or finding someone to finally teach you how to drive, you can read the blog and sign up for the newsletter.

Instead of our narrow prescribed education system focused on exam success, School of Everything stressed the importance of learning about something you're interested in and celebrates the liberating idea of education for education's sake.
