Encyclopaedia Mythica
Encyclopedia Mythica has been online since 1995, and its author Micha F Lindemans describes it as 'an encyclopedia on mythology, folklore and legend'. It's a state-of-the-art resource with a broad world view, presenting mythology in a manner that's informed, clear and accessible. The site makes excellent use of search engines, navigation tools, and site maps in order to present a complex subject with informed clarity. The front page allows the surfer to explore, search, discover what's new, and find out further information about the project. Once you're inside, the site can be easily navigated via the side bar, which is available on each page.
Explore provides an entry point into the 5,700 articles featured in the Encyclopedia. Twenty-five main areas are listed, the most recent addition being Korean mythology. Each has an A-Z directory of key terms, concepts, gods and goddesses. There are discussions on legendary places, creatures and objects from diverse religious, cultural and historical perspectives. The articles have a side bar listing all the features within an area, together with links at the
