Vote Match
If you're struggling to decide who to vote for in the 2010 general election - and let's face it, who isn't? - Vote Match is a fun website which might just help you make your decision.
HOW IT WORKS
The beauty of this site is its simplicity. On the hompeage, enter your postcode in the box on the right of the screen. You will be given several statements to consider, such as "new prisons need to be built to ease overcrowding" and "the number of MPs should be reduced by 10%." You get the choice of 'agree', 'disagree', 'open minded' and 'skip'. Select the issues that are most important to you and click on the three parties you would be prepared to vote for. Vote Match will then tell you which party you're most in tune with on the basis of the information you have given the site. You will also be presented with the results of the 2005 election for your constituency.
WHO'S BEHIND IT
Vote Match is the work of Unlock Democracy, an organisation campaigning for greater freedoms, more participation and more accountability in British politics. It has received funding from the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust and sponsorship from the Daily Telegraph.
