ONE Vote 2010
ONE Vote 2010 is an online campaign designed to give voters the opportunity to raise concerns about global poverty. It is modelled on an original US campaign run during the 2008 presidential election.
ONE CAMPAIGN
ONE has more than two million members and exists to "hold world leaders to account for the commitments they've made to fight extreme poverty." As a campaign and advocacy organisation it obviously needs popular support in order to make its voice heard. ONE calls for greater accountability and transparency in the deployment of resources. In essence it wants to aid the aid.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
You can sign up to the campaign and vote on what issues are most important to you. Hover over catergories such as Water & Sanitation, Maternal & Child Health and Education and you will be given a little bit of factual information. There are videos on the site from Brown, Cameron and Clegg, who each explain what a Tory, Labour or Lib Dem government would do for "sustainable international development." You can also find out what the Green Party and Plaid Cymru have to say.
