Alpha.gov

And so, with cutbacks being what they are, the Coalition Government has set up another website. Alpha.gov is described as 'an experimental prototype of a single government website' which, of course, 'aims to place…the needs of citizens first.' Let us ignore for a moment the fact that we are subjects of Lizzie Windsor rather than citizens and see what we've got here.

REVOLUTION

Apparently, the figurehead of Race Online 2012, Martha Lane Fox, told the government that it needed 'revolution' in the way it offered services online. A crack team of digital rebels responded to Martha's call, spending three months in hiding coming up with this website. Or stealing the look of Microsoft's Bing. It's one of the two.

FEEDING BACK

The digerati in government want the public to take a look at this site and offer their views. Can you find all the information you need on it? Well, I asked Alpha why the cabinet is made up of a disproportionate number of privately educated Oxbridge millionaires, but it didn't tell me. I guess some data is just not worth passing on.
