International Herald Tribune

The International Herald Tribune is the ‘global edition of the New York Times.' Given that the paper is part of the NYT Company it is no surprise that its website is impressive.

As well as comprehensive coverage of technology, culture and international politics the site offers nine video channels, covering everything from travel & dining to sport.
There are several blogs, the most interesting being the paper's editor-at-large Roger Cohen's on the urgent themes of the day.

Page one of the European and Asian editions of the Herald Tribune are accessible and on the left of the screen there are news updates from AP and Reuters wire services. AudioNews allows users to stream or download articles on demand and give their eyes a rest. This is a free service but requires registration.

Reader Discussions is an interesting feature. A topic for discussion is posted and readers respond to it. The boards are very lively, with a wide variety of views expressed. The discussion archive can be sorted by date or most comments.

It's easy to find your way around this site and the visual content is unobtrusive. But if you find that it does not mean your needs an exact digital copy of the paper is available. Annual subscription costs $300.
