BBC iPlayer

BBC iPlayer allows you to watch TV and radio programmes for up to seven days after they have been broadcast.

The internet is used to legally download programmes to your computer that are saved in a BBC iPlayer Library on your computer. The downloaded programmes are available to watch for seven days. During this time you can watch the programme as many times as you want without having to log onto the internet.

If a programme has already been aired then you can download it and watch it straight away. If it has not yet been broadcast, set the iPlayer to automatically download it as soon as it's been broadcast on TV.

For broadband users it is predicted that a half hour programme will take just under that time to download. However, for dialup users it will take about five hours. With the continuous development of faster broadband connections, the download time will fall and eventually might only take a few minutes.
