London Architecture Diary
The London Architecture Diary (LAD) is indispensable for anyone interested in architecture, photography and art in the UK. This listings site will keep you up to date with all the architectural talks, debates, exhibitions, tours and events taking place across the capital. The LAD is supported by London schools of architecture, galleries and organisations and provides a truly comprehensive service.
The LAD website is clear, simple and very nicely designed. Click on planner for the listings. On the left of the screen you'll find the name of the event, the organiser and the date. On the right you'll find a calendar, with the relevant dates highlighted in yellow. To move the date forward or back, click on the arrows at the top of the planner screen or click on different dates on the calendar. To find out more about an event, click on the title. You'll be taken to a new page with links to relevant websites, ticket information, opening times and a link to Google maps.
In addition to an online listings service and a free newsletter, the LAD has monthly editorials from architects, designers and journalists. Guest editors who have given advice, observation and recommendations thus far include Times architecture critic Tom Dyckhoff and philosopher Alain de Botton.
