Founded in 1925, Apollo magazine is one of the world's oldest magazines dedicated to the visual arts. Published monthly, Apollo has all the news from the art world, in-depth reviews, exhibition previews, expert advice on collecting and comprehensive features on everything from ancient Chinese bronzes to contemporary work.

Clear, nicely designed and easy to find your way around the Apollo website makes it an enjoyable experience to read articles online. And there's plenty to choose from. The archive allows you to explore every issue from January 2006 onwards, although you have to register to access this service. The writing is excellent, informed, involved and enthused.

The site has a detailed What's On section so you can keep up to date with important events. There's a weekly competition which gives you the chance to win art history books and tickets to exhibitions and fairs. There's also a regular blog called Muse which offers more personal views on the latest goings on in the art world.
