The site provides access to Britain's most extensive digital historical map archive. A model of simplicity, this allows you to search old maps (usually 19th Century) for known place names or specific addresses, or by co-ordinates. You can also select a place name from the County Gazetteer. They have most editions of the historical Ordnance Survey maps, and you can compare various editions. Maps are provided either in printed form and posted to you, or produced electronically and emailed, the latter being cheaper. There is an Historical Maps email group to join.
