Family History Research provides a short guide to researching the collections. There are leaflets available in PDF form on tracing ancestors from different branches of the services. Special sections on Rolls of Honour, of which the museum has a collection of over 80 volumes, and Gallantry Awards and Commissions, suggest further areas of research. The Links section is definitely worth a visit.


UK National Inventory of War Memorials is a huge project to compile a database of the estimated 54,000 war memorials throughout the UK commemorating all conflicts. Unfortunately the material has not been put online, and the first phase of project has not collected names, but here you will find details about how to access the collection in person.
