The Andrea Kearney Fund
The Andrea Kearney Fund offers financial and practical support for women who have been diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy. It was set up by Andrea's husband Peter after his wife's death in May 2008.
Andrea Kearney was expecting her fifth child when she discovered a lump on her breast. She was in the 38th week of her pregnancy. Her baby, Phillip, was induced, and Andrea began chemotherapy. She died eighteen months later. The Fund was launched in November 2008 in a special event which raised £15,000.
You can apply to the Fund by downloading the application form on the website. You can also find out more about Andrea and the events the Fund organises. The Fund is modelled on the Macmillan Cancer Support scheme, which makes small grants available to women whose breast cancer nurses refer them.
