Royal Bank of Scotland uses the same online banking platform as NatWest (see NatWest review), but has its own product portfolio, charges and interest rates. View up to 6 months transactions on your current, savings (including cash-ISA) and credit cards and download data to MS Money, Quicken or a spreadsheet.

The basic Current Plus account can be upgraded to a subscription Royalties, Royalties Gold or Royalties Premier account. The basic Royalties account provides (inter alia) preferential loan, overdraft and credit card rates; a 25% discount on home insurance for one year, free breakdown cover (when you buy RBS motor insurance) and discounts on 'entertainment' goods and services. Royalties Gold and Royalties Premier offer wider benefits. Savings rates are tiered to favour the better endowed.
