Men and Money: from the BBC Archive

"A British bank is run with precision," sings George Banks in Mary Poppins. "A British home requires nothing less!" Are you yearning for those days? Well, the BBC has come to your rescue. Sadly, its engineers have not come up with a time machine that will transport you to an age of corporate responsibility and prudence, but the archives have opened up a fascinating glimpse at a pre-Global age.

To coincide with BBC Two's ‘City Season,' a series from 1964 has been made available online. Men and Money examines the dealing room at Lloyds, the Stock Exchange, and the "men in dark suits" who run it all. What has changed? Was it any better?
