Search for unsecured loans on Moneyfacts by using the full search wizard or by best buys. Secured (homeowner) loan quotes are available through Best Buys.

The full search results table lists unsecured loans by "typical" APR. However, the table can be resorted by provider, monthly payment or total payable. Results can be filtered by up to 8 simultaneous criteria including no (arrangement) fees, no redemption penalties and online application.

Unfortunately, the "typical" APR may not be a guide to the actual APR charged since many lenders apply superior rates on larger loans. You have to hit the Details button to view the appropriate APR to your loan amount.

Best Buys purport to show the most competitive rates for unsecured loans of £5k over 3 years and £10k over years; career development loans, graduate loans and secured loans. However,
Best Buys were not fully consistent with full-search results. For example, the Best Buys table for a 3-year loan of £5k included Eskimo (6.9% APR), Royal Bank of Scotland (7.9%) and NatWest (8%), ahead of Moneyback (6.4% APR), Northern Rock (6.4%), Northern Bank (6.5%) and Bradford & Bingley (6.7%) in the full search table.
