As well as financial advice, insurance and pensions, the site also offers lending services and direct investment, including online sharetrading (with imiweb.co.uk). Most useful perhaps for the self-employed, there is information and advice for employer's stakeholder pensions, which confusingly, comes from Pensionsbusiness.com.

Browsers can use the Direct Offer Services, a sort of self-select, self-service system with no specific client advice, but the site stresses that policies may not have the necessary cover.

Alternatively, use the Advice Services which involves filling in a detailed Fact Find questionnaire, a Financial Services Act requirement. Initial advice is free of charge (either emailed, by phone or face to face) until you select a policy, then you decide whether to pay a fee or commission.
