The British Library Business & IP Centre in London launched in March 2006 and supports entrepreneurs, inventors and small businesses from that first spark of inspiration to successfully launching and developing a business.
BUSINESS ADVICE
Since the centre launched, over 200,000 entrepreneurs have benefited from free access to the UK's most comprehensive collection of business and intellectual property databases and publications, and gained general startup advice, information on funding sources, market research, company data, business news and information on patents, trade marks, registered designs and copyright. Anyone with a Reader Pass can use The British Library afterwhich they can enjoy advice sessions with experts, workshops and events run by The British Library in-house team and partners, e-courses on intellectual property and webcasts of previous events.

At The British Library Business & IP Centre, experts have handpicked the best information for researching key industries. These guides highlight useful databases, publications and websites. Visitors can apply for a session with one of The British Library's business experts, specialising in marketing, legal issues, IP and ethical business. The Inspiring Entrepreneurs series of events gives visitors the chance to hear from and put their questions to high-profile entrepreneurs and business leaders, including the Lord Sugar, Stelios and many others.
